“Circadian” was conceived as a concept work and
one piece. The instrumentation includes a choir
(a‘capella), modular and analog synthesizers, cello,
viola, tuba, clarinet, flute, voice with effects unit,
and electric guitar. The program was supplemented
by two a‘capella pieces for four female singers.
Thematically, the concert explores circadian rhythms
in he context of highly variable day lengths
experienced during a year - long stay in Norway.
Biological time structures are linked to subjective
perceptions of duration, fatigue, disorientation, rest
and recovery.
